Re: “Pryor seeks control on liquid nicotine

Spurred by a discredited article!! It is NOT a neroutoxin!! Stop with the lies and scare tactics please. The New York Times was discredited publicly! PROVEN the numbers where greatly exaggerated to make e-liquid look deadly when in fact they could not prove those numbers. Seems kind of funny that no one has access to the 2013 national report for poison control, yet This guy does and so does the NYT?? Uhh Noo I have in front of me the 2012 report and the 2013 report is not yet available.. AND one of our members from CASSA contacted AK PCC and were told that they do not keep those stats.. So were did these stats come from in this and other B.S articles?? Straight from the AAPCC 2012>
The top five substance classes most frequently involved
in all human exposures were analgesics (11.6%), cosmetics/
personal care products (7.9%), household cleaning substances
(7.2%), sedatives/hypnotics/antipsychotics (6.1%),
and foreign bodies/toys/miscellaneous (4.1%). Analgesic
exposures as a class increased the most rapidly (8,780
calls/year) over the last 12 years. The top fi ve most common
exposures in children aged 5 years or less were cosmetics/
personal care products (13.9%), analgesics (9.9%),
household cleaning substances (9.7%), foreign bodies/toys/
miscellaneous (7.0%), and topical preparations (6.3%). So maybe we should regulate all of these products as well? and as mentioned in another comment there were over 5,000 poison exposures from TOBACCO cigarettes and over 600 in NRT's aka the patch and gum. Where is the public outcry to ban and regulate these with child proofing? Gum is more appealing to children wouldnt ya think?
