Re: “Four candidates for University of Arkansas president

eLwood, you can consider me part of the “we” I suppose. I have been a supporter of the Clinton School for a long time having attending lunch and evening events they have organized. In my opinion, there has been some significant mismanagement of finances both publically funded and privately donated. (Examples: Donations to The Rep and The Little Rock Film Festival as well as wining and dining speakers that visit the school, etc)

Just so we are clear, this is a school and program that I fully believe in. But it is my fear that it will go mismanaged and misguided for far too long and will simply result in an implosion. Where will this leave the staff and current and previous students who hold a degree from a now-defunct program? I’m hoping that the new President of the U of A system will heed the concerns previously mentioned by supporters of the Clinton School and institute some sort of accountability system that will prevent the implosion from happening.

Since I don’t know and can’t speak for “Arkansasrising”, my take on what they were referring to as being “disgusting” is the fact that repeated attempts have been made for people to look into the finances and operations at the Clinton School, including to Mr. Brantley. He has just looked the other way and hasn’t even responded. That makes the “us” have to assume it’s because of his friendship with Dean Rutherford. This is a stark contrast as to how Mr. Brantley acted in regards to the public funds that were mismanaged at the Little Rock airport.

I tried to keep this short, but it is something that has bothered me for a while so I thought I should speak up here.
