Re: “Ruth Coker Burks, the cemetery angel

I appreciate what this" lady" (I mean this sincerely as I see her as a lady) has done and wish her well. There are people now in the Africa who are still dying of "AIDS" however in those days that is how it was called and still is being seen as a person with "AIDS" not living with HIV. There are people all over the world still dying of "AIDS" speak to some of my friends in African Countries and you would be horrified. I would like to offer her my support as a person living with HIV for 28 years. When I was 30 I went to Westmead Hospital in NSW Australia ( I lived in MelbourneAustralia to see my big gay brother Craig( I miss him sometimes)
I still went out partying however everyday I would take a bus to the hospital and get the one Doctor on call to visit every single patient. I, too sat with strangers to hold their hands, wipe up their shit and blood as the nurses would not touch them. I said "Goodbye" to about a dozen strangers as no one including there including there 'Gay Friends" bothered to visit them again.(I have never told anyone this story before as it just something I did )
When I go t back to I returned to my job at Social Security. My friend Craig has gone now I am still living with HIV however while I appreciate the work that Ruth Coker Burks has done and would offer my support to her to look after herself. There are still many "straight people" in this world who are dying of an AIDS related illnesses everyday in Africa and Asian countries. The work has not finished, it still need to be addressed and I wish all my brothers and sisters with HIV in the world my compassion understanding and care. To Ruth Coker Burks I think it would be great if your President would honour you. However I understand the political climate there is not good. I want you to thank you for looking after these men back then and I offer you my luv and care
(I know I am putting myself out there and please do not sent me hate letters I don't have the time)
Thank you listening
Thank you for your time
