Re: “Riverfest includes Nelly, Digital Underground

Yes the festival does have to make money to continue to bring bands but that's what any non-profit has to do to continue to exist. All of the money made goes back into the budget for next year to make improvements. There is only one paid full-time person on staff so it's not like anyone's making the big bucks and ripping off festival go-ers.

There are not 100 board members. Scroll down to the bottom of this link. Not even close to 100. Good try though. http://riverfestarkansas.com/info/about-us…

I would say just about any music is considered art...you can interpret it however you'd like. I'm a complete music snob and don't play riverfest bands on my itunes much but i would say about 95% of other people do.

And yes it is affordable. If you saw each one of these bands separately at Rev Room/Sticky Fingerz type venue you'd pay hundreds of dollars.

Re: “Riverfest includes Nelly, Digital Underground

I've been to Bonnaroo and Waka and loved them both but I also have the money to pay for my ticket, camping gear, food, which usually puts me around $500 after it's all said and done.

Maybe arkansas panic has 50 bucks to blow but many Arkansas families don't. Many will never be able to see this many live acts and afford to bring their kids along too.

If you don't like it then don't go. But at least low income families will be able to experience the arts.
