Re: “Goose coalition breaks with NLR over new ordinance UPDATE

It is truly a sad state of affairs that local governments cannot work with their communities to come up with a better solution. As Marion above points out, Canada Geese are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Why is it that officials can take it upon themselves to change who is covered and who is not? The officials are quite a lot.

The geese and all wildlife are being painted into a corner and in the case of the geese, are being punished for the human intervention years ago. Had they not been exterminated to extinction except for the few found years later and then exploited, this would not be happening.

There is incredible gall in office these days. In just a short time there will be no wildlife left and who will they blame? It is more important to worship the almighty dollar and stuff the pockets of others who are in on the game than to find ways to live with wildlife. It is the least we owe them given we have taken every last bit of land and water away from them.

What a disgrace.
