Mary Gay Shipley

Mary Gay Shipley Blytheville Owner, That Bookstore in Blytheville My favorite place in Arkansas is the back room in That Bookstore in Blytheville. It has a high tin ceiling and a worn creaky wooden floor. Both are older than I am. Surrounded by the best children’s books, you could read forever. The room is warmed by a working woodstove, making it very cozy in the winter. The spirits of the many writers who have shared their works lingers. The many wooden chairs, the pages of the guest book, are a reminder of who has shared this space. The gourmet coffees and teas encourage one to stop and sit a spell. I often take my work out of the office to the back room. Did I mention the rocking chairs?
