Re: “Arkansas's ban of the natural painkiller Kratom has left sufferers and former opiate addicts in the lurch

I have been taking Kratom for two years and have been so grateful that I finally discovered something besides opioids for my chronic fibromyalgia and fatigue. I also have degenerative arthiritis and spinal stenosis. I have had two back surgeries and a knee replacement. The prescribed meds were destroying me. The Kratom has restored my ability to be a part of life. While on opioids I was constantly tired and had withdrawn from the parts of life that are normal. I didn't have the energy to stand and prepare dinner, I slept a great deal of the time, I suffered from slurred speech and I was suffering from the depression that holds hands with those dealing with pain that never goes a way. With Kratom, I have the energy to be of value. What is happening to those that use this plant for pain and addiction is cruel. We believe in this plant because it has helped us in ways that none of the pharmaceutical drugs have been able to do. Thanks for a well researched article.
