Re: “ACLU warns North Little Rock School District about creationism teaching

What's so dangerous about teaching kids both sides of the story? Like why not let kids decide if the earth is flat or spherical, or whether diseases are cause by germs or demons. No matter how dumb the controversy is, I say teach both sides!:

Re: “Americans United challenges teaching of creationism in two Arkansas charter schools

It is quite clear that the tactics used by the right to undermine a public faith in science have been effective, as more and more people seem to be content with the idea that you don't need actual evidence to support your beliefs, just a passionate and earnest faith with suffice. Once we discard the notion that scientific evidence and honest attempts at objective inquiry should define what we teach in schools then at the very least they should be consistent in their approach: Teach both sides of every "controversy" even when one side has been thoroughly debunked - Flat Earth vs Spherical Earth should be given equal footing, a balanced approach to teaching Germ theory vs demons as to the cause of disease, and so forth. If you are going to teach one sham "controversy" then you ought to teach them all:
