Re: “Change in leadership at Maumelle High School

From the Maumelle High School Facebook page: "She hung tough but announced to her staff that though she loved them and loved the school she had worked to long and hard to jeopardize her character or integrity to stay. Those who have worked hard to keep the AR race problems 'stirred up' with bullying, badgering and law suits may feel they won but MHS has WON! Ms. Guthrie had put good teachers & programs in place. Thanks to Ms. Guthrie for putting the right people around her, an excellent lady has stepped up to lead. Ms. Guthrie's leadership will be missed but Ms. Ireland will take care of MHS students & staff. We're sorry that the people who 'could of had your back and helped' are to busy on their agendas."

Principal Guthrie recorded her resignation message, and it was delivered via telephone to parents and guardians of Maumelle High students Monday afternoon. She said "I leave Maumelle High School with my integrity and character in tact." Wondering if she was asked to overlook behavior issues and teacher evaluations, because a small minority was claiming racial prejudice??? Lots of unanswered questions, but Maumelle parents still support Principal Guthrie and her vision for Maumelle High School. #schoolofourdreams
