Re: “Not fit for broadband

Snowball has historically not been viewed as "financially fit" to telephone communication companies. In the mid 1970's, much of Snowball had no telephone accessibility. Petitions and pleas' to Alltel for service just didn't compute financially. With the leadership of Randy Wilburn, and the assistance of Joe Ford, both with Alltel, Snowball eventually received five and six family-sharing "party line" service. I feel sure that Alltel's business venture has, over time, more than paid for itself.

It's time for Windstream to "Pay It Forward" and provide services to isolated areas that may not show an immediate return on their federally subsidized investment. If taxpayors could choose how to allocate their dollars, I'm not so sure that they would agree with Windstream's decision for their operational growth going to areas with the biggest bang for THEIR buck.
