Re: “Rep. Bob Ballinger wants to keep fighting over birth certificates

I want to say that this is an extraordinarily well-written article.

I also want to say that the lawyer for the same-sex couples is my mother and I also work for her. I watched all last week as she and the state worked to solve this issue. It was no easy task because of specific limits put on them by the Arkansas Supreme Court. Limits that almost tied even the judges hands. That was overcome when the Governor, who wasnt bound by them, issued his Order. There is now one constitutional issue to be dealt with for the ruling from SCOTUS to be complied with in full, and that will be handled just fine between the judge and lawyers.

Ballinger, Rupert, etc ALL need to be removed from their seats. This state is in the hands of so-called men who grandstand rather than legislate. The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled. Repeatedly - and even after the new conservative Justice was in place. There is NO win for the people who insist on fighting it. No gain. What they get is something to LIE about and promise their voters they will fix it after they elect them again. They do absolutely nothing but pander to fear, ignorance, and prejudice to get votes.

Re: “State seeks emergency stay from Arkansas Supreme Court in birth certificate case

Perplexed - this case has already been in front of the United States Supreme Court. They overturned the Arkansas Supreme Courts ruling in August of this year. SCOTUS ordered the State to fix the birth certificate statute to make it treat same-sex and opposite-sex parents equally. First, the case was handed back to the State Supremes, but they ultimately decided to remand the case back to the original judge - Pulaski County Judge Timothy Fox.

Yesterday, our State Attorney General, Leslie Rutledge, had 4 lawyers in her office completely disrupt the process of Mediation. Why? Because Rutledge was ordered to participate in the first portion of the Mediation. In person. She was NOT having it! Her office filed a bunch of stuff asking the State Supreme Court to make Judge Fox stop being mean to them.

Re: “Supreme Court orders Arkansas to stop birth certificate discrimination

Interesting that an Arkansas paper makes no mention that this case was created - and pushed all the way to SCOTUS - by the same Arkansas attorney that created the one that legalized same-sex marriages in our state. What's wrong, Max? It's not your boy, I know. But it is still something for this state to be proud of having done...

Re: “LGBT rights hero John Schenck dies

The Pink House will be turned into a museum honoring the LGBTQ community. It will also remain the base of and starting point for Conway Pride - in perpetuity! We have John to thank for that. As if we could ever thank him properly for what he has done for us...

Re: “LGBT rights hero John Schenck dies

To all who have expressed concern about the future of the Pink House - stop worrying. Its future is assured in the best way possible. More to come...

Re: “Arkansas Supreme Court upholds birth certificate law creating hurdles for same-sex couples

The hell with the ACLU appealing it. They did not give one **** when the same-sex lawsuit was filed against the state of Arkansas. They said it was "not Arkansas'turn." That is a direct quote from the LOCAL chapter. Almost word-for-word what megacorporation HRC said at the same time. Both organizations failed (refused) to fight ANY of these battles, but they are always peeking their beady little eyes over the sill when it might have to go national. In my opinion, both need to sit down and shut up.
