Re: “Wanted: More guns on campus UPDATE

All I can think of are the two Virginia Tech students with carry licenses that confronted the killer, but had to let him pass because they were obeying the "Gun Free Zone" law.

Lives could have been saved if the students were allowed to carry.

Lives were saved at Appalachian School of Law when two students encountered a shooter on campus, raced back to their vehicles, retrieved their weapons, confronted the shooter, disarmed him, and detained him for police. All this was done without a shot being fired from the students.

The only bloodfest massacres that occur, come from areas where legislators make people a victim. The gun free zones at Virginia tech, Columbine High School, and Luby's Cafeteria are a few that come to mind.

The Second Amendment guarantees the right of "The People" to bear arms. These are the same "The People" that have to right to free speech, to assemble peaceably, to be secure in their homes, and a right to a fair trial.
If the constitution wanted to guarantee the State the right to bear arms, "The State" would have substituted for "The People".

The Second Amendment is there because it forces the government to trust its citizens.
The training and proficiency obtained from getting a carry license should allow the people to carry a weapon anywhere in the state, including schools.
