It's just so ridiculous when people try to set standards for what low to middle income families should and shouldn't have. It's unkind, callous and insensitive. No one should make these judgemental statements. Until you have walked a mile in their shoes you shouldnt throw shade on the less fortunate.

Furthermore, the mensa rejects, who are spewing this vitriol, should realize that access to healthcare benefits us all. Look at it this way: At a venue open to the public, would you rather come im contact with someone who is healthy because s/he has access to healtcare or someone who doesn't and may put you and your family at risk by speading airborne illnesses that have gone untreated?

It would be wonderful if all these people would come down from their ivory towers and attend the poverty simulation workshops. It would really open their eyes. And unless their hearts are made of granite, it would soften them a bit in favor of compassion.
