Re: “Just the facts: Jerol Garrison has died at 86

I will be forever grateful to Mr. Garrison for creating some of my fondest childhood memories. Mr. & Mrs. Garrison put so much of their own time, effort, hard work, planning, and unconditional love into not one, but two Appalachian Trail adventures for so many girls, and boys, too. It was those two trail trips that I remember with some clarity, and still (repeatedly) talk about... When I was a younger version of me, and how I hiked the Appalachian Trail, not once, but twice!
It truly does seem like only yesterday, I was attempting to impress Mr. Garrison by being one of his best-trained hikers, all while carrying a 40 pounds,(Or was it 50?) backpack, and taking fewer rest stops. A lot of cheese, Spam, black eyed peas, freeze-dried Lipton soup, and Glop kept us refortified and strong...
Thanks for the memories, Scout Daddy.
