"This war is not about slavery" Spoken by Robert E. Lee as he freed the Curtis slaves in 1862 completing the Curtis will.
Have any of you heard of a child by the name of Jim Limber Davis? Did you know he was a black child that was rescued from an abusive guardian and adopted by the Davis family? Did you know he was kidnapped by union troops after the Davis' were captured?
Did you know Thomas Jackson started a black Sunday school? Did you know Forrest freed the 45 slaves that rode with him? Did you know at least 60,000 black men fought FOR the south?
The Confederacy was by no means any more racist than the U.S. Then again, Lincoln always did consider blacks inferior. So I guess the Confederacy was less racist than the U.S.
