Re: “Only the guilty want closure in West Memphis Three case

I have only recently become aware of the phenomenon that is the West Memphis 3 this is due to seeing the paradise lost 3 documentary, I have also now watched the other documentaries relating to these truly horrific murders. Before I get started I'd like to say that I truly believe these young men were fitted up good and proper by the authorities in Arkansas.

I'm a serving police officer in the United Kingdom and have been involved in the investigations of several murders and after not only watching the PDL documentaries but also reading dozens of articles about the case and looking objectively at the evidence relating to the convictions of the three teenagers, (as they were at the time) I can not believe that the evidence (or lack of it)managed to make the jury convict these 3 young men.

There was clearly something very wrong with what happened at their trial especially regarding jury misconduct, the trial should have been stopped and a new jury appointed at the very least.

What I also saw in one of the documentaries absolutely horrified me. A so called expert taking the stand under oath and spouting about satanic human sacrifices and heavy metal music and wearing dark clothes and black T Shirts and being a goth and mentioning Damien's psychiatric issues. How very pathetic that you try to discredit someone and make them look guilty of murder just because they have some psychiatric issues, they dress in black clothing and they choose to be a goth.
I was a goth and I listened to Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax and many many more and I spent most of my teenage years in black T shirts but I certainly did NOT take part in any satanic rituals and I also played the drums in my own metal band, so am I a killer or a satanist, infact I still love hard metal and heavy metal music and I'm a bloody police officer, oh no this is so wrong.

When you actually look at the facts or the evidence relating to their convictions and the way this police force treated the crime scene and gathered their so called evidence it was truly incompetent and downright shoddy work.

These convictions were made possible purely by the confessions of a poor lad who it is known to be well below average IQ his confession was managed and extracted by police offices who were hell bent on getting a charge against an easy prey and that's exactly what happened. Jessie Misskelly Jnr's confession should never have been taken seriously. Police officers were asking him leading questions and that is illegal well it is here in the UK, those interviews would never have been accepted by a judge in the UK not after listening to the police officers putting words and answers into the mouth of JMK Jnr. The poor Ladd even said things like Damien screwed one of the kids, yeah this is a sick and disturbing thing to say but it's been proven during the trial that this didn't even happen to any of those poor boys.

So let me just clarify, he confesses to killing these kids with 2 others and says things in his confession that were proven in court at the time of the trial that several accounts in his confession don't stack up with times or actual physical evidence and some of the statements he made didn't even happen so why was this confession even allowed by the trial judge, I will tell you why because that judge was as ignorant and incompetent as the police and in his mind these lads were guilty. It's a judges job to make sure that all evidence and facts are heard and brought out into the open and it's their job to make sure the accused receive a fair trial, it wasn't a fair trial in the slightest, the judge made sure of that. There was jury misconduct and the guy who became the jury foreman should never have even been on the jury because he was and ignorant, redneck halfwit who had them guilty from the start, what an asshole he was eh.

I have never in my life seen such blatant suppresion of evidence and such incompetence and more worryingly never seen such ignorance by people in positions of such power, what a dangerous thing that is.

These young men were innocent of such crimes and it is truly shocking that the Memphis police department are not reopening their investigations into the murders of these 3 little lads and what is even sadder is the fact that the parents of these little angels have never had justice for their boys because the true killer(s) is still walking about free he or they must be laughing at the utter incompetence of the Arkansas judicial system.

One last point i'd like to make is why did the courts call a surprise hearing weeks before another trial was probably going to be declared and all 3 were released after having to plead guilty (with the Alford plea), for a crime their innocent of, I'll tell you why, because the state realised that they were going to be cleared of the crimes and then they could sue the state for their utter incompetence and handling of the case. With the Alford plea of guilty they can't ofcourse do this anymore and they will not re investigate the murders because they know if they found another killer then the lads would be cleared and they could then proceed with lawsuits against the state.

It's truly horrific what happened to those little lads in 1993 but convicting the wrong people and thinking you've put this case to bed does not give those poor boys any justice or their families. Maybe the families think the right people were convicted but I'm sorry to say that none of the facts or evidence point to the WM3 but there is evidence to suggest that someone else was there at the murder scene and I don't just mean the hair found in a knot of a ligature. One man has constantly evaded questions and told lies about his alibi's of where he was that night and he said (although not at the time because the police didn't even question him as a possible suspect) that he hadn't even seen the boys that evening when in actual fact a neighbour saw all 3 boys with him that evening but she didn't know he hadn't been questioned by the police at that time and oh my god he should have been.

Failure after failure after failure. These lads were hung out to dry by the authorities.
If this had been a murder case that I had worked on as a copper then I would be ashamed at my lack of professionalism and the fact that 3 innocent teenagers were in essence fitted up big time.

Never in my life have I seen people who are blinded by their ignorance and the way they view other people in their society. So if you seem a bit different from others around you and you listen to Metallica and wear black clothes then you must obviously be child killer eh. Seriously people, pull your heads from up your butts and come into the 21st century. People should be convicted on evidence not circumstantial evidence and they should be convicted on facts not facts that are made up by liars because that's not facts.

I sincerely hope these young men clear their names one day and also that justice is served by catching the real killer because those little boys need justice.

Amen
