Re: “SO on Sunday

The steak price is right in line with Arthur's or Sonny Williams. The salmon seems a bit pricey at first, but that's not an unusual price for a nightly special at a nice restaurant.

A $13 dessert seems high, but that thing is meant to feed 2+ people (we've shared it among four).

Re: “Lots to love

The tacos are fantastic. The margaritas are not.

Re: “Same ol'

The kitchen strain is not an unusual occurrence at Delicious Temptations. We had spent far too long during past visits waiting to get our food, but vowed to never return after our last visit when server after server passed by us without a "Hello," or "I'll be with y'all in a minute," or any kind of acknowledgement.

The owner was standing at the door as we were leaving and asked us if everything was alright and we told him that we never got served. He just said "sorry" and watched us walk out the door.

Judging by the crowds at Delicious Temptations and Ozark Country Cafe (or whatever they call themselves now), many Little Rockers don't seem to mind bad service at breakfast. I'd rather cook at home.

The problem with kBird is the hours. It can be difficult to eat there if you don't live or work in the general area. We live fairly close but we frequently don't make our dinner plans until after they're already closed.

Excellent! Now if they'll just resume the direct New Orleans flight, I'll be a happy camper!

Re: “Dizzy for Desi Den

You know you're actually supposed the use the naan to eat your food, right? The polite thing to do in Indian culture is to tear the naan and eat with only one hand, but I never mastered the tearing with one hand.

Re: “Pies, crawfish, pop-up markets and Food Network stars this weekend

Finally had dinner at One Eleven at the Capital, and while the food was great, we were less than impressed with the service. At that price point, I would expect some of the best service in town, but our server needed some polish. He had to come back to confirm my husband's cocktail order and could only confidently identify 3 of the 5 cheeses on the cheese plate. Even then, all he could say was that one was blue cheese, gruyere, etc. At previous occasions at both CBG and Ashley's, our servers could not only tell us what the cheese was, but the name of the dairy and the location.

It would have been decent service at a casual place, I just expect more at a fine dining establishment.

We experienced a similar problem at Samantha's Tap Room. Even though there was no obstacle behind us, the server was constantly reaching across the diners at the outside of our table to service the members of our party to the inside. Also missed an order at each of the appetizer and salad courses. I'd settle for a little less perky personality and more reliable service.
