Re: “Foes of quarry development to meet today


On May 8, 1990, the Arkansas River crested at 27.70 feet. I went down River Road that day as far as I could and saw the following: The NLR FOP Lodge was under water nearly to the rafters and the water was at the double yellow line on the road just past there in front of the old model railroad club on the right (the yellow building). Water was immediately next to the railroad club building that had run down from the quarry, because a good chunk of the quarry was under water. Thought I would pass that along, in case no one had else had.
