Re: “Pushing for stricter gun laws

Anybody bother doing the math? I didn't think so! Here is the real truth!!

140,319,000=Population of those 10 states listed (2006)
296,398,000=Total population
The 10 states=47.29% of population

Gee, I wonder why these 10 states that make up 47.29% of the US population produce half of all guns used in a crime? Just shows how the Anti gun groups twist the facts to make it look like things are worse than they are FROM ARK. BLOG: Where'd you dream up these numbers? Report says with 2006 population in parenthesis from me: " When controlling for population, Mississippi (2.9 million), West Virginia (1.8 million), Kentucky (4.2 million), Alaska (.6), Alabama (4.6), South Carolina (4.3), Virginia (7.6), Indiana (6.3), Nevada (2.5), and Georgia (9.3) export crime guns at the highest rates. These states export crime guns at more than seven times the rate of the ten states with the lowest crime gun export rates." So these 10 states account for about 44.1 million of the population, or roughly 15 percent of the 299 million counted in 2006.
