Re: “The message for November

As an outsider I have to send my congrats and thanks to Halter and all those that worked so hard on his campaign. They have done a huge favor to the Democratic Party. It was an uphill battle from the very start and he did way better than anyone ever thought he would. I hope they all remember that they have made a point to the Democratic establishment that is worth more than its weight in gold. Trust me the DC Dem elites won’t party too much tonight. Tomorrow morning they and Blanche have to get up and face the fact that almost half of the Dem base in Arkansas voted against her and aren’t likely to be thrilled about voting or working for her this fall. That’s a new reality for a politician like Blanch Lincoln and can’t be underestimated!

You can bet there will be lots of pressure on Halter and his folks to get behind Blanche and when they don’t the begging and promises will start. If Blanche looses this Nov. the fact that she was beat up fairly badly in a primary will be part of the narrative explaining why she lost with the unspoken part being this is what you get when you attack the base and turn your back on core Democratic Principles.

So, lets remember its her race to run now along with the creeps in the DLC and DSCC and she and they have to pull the base back home – all the things that have been said won’t be going away and all those folks that voted for Halter know that she is the worst kind of corporate troll. Even if they vote for her they won’t do it with the same enthusiasm as before and will watch what she does from now on. Blanche Lincoln’s life has changed and from her perspective its not for the better. Likewise, the options of the Dem elites in DC have narrowed. All the Corporate Dems now know that they are vulnerable and if they turn their back on basic Democratic Principles there could be a price to pay.

So, my thanks to Halter and his campaign - they have accomplished much more than anybody ever thought they would.
