Re: “Mike Huckabee and bigotry and an open line

But. But. Sarah and the republicans are all in favor of a baker not wanting to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple.

Re: “Glenwood United Methodist urges shunning of LGBT day at Magic Springs UPDATE

Here is a reply from Reverend Gaboury (who, by the way, is NOT an UMC ordained minister) written just a few weeks ago which appears in something called "Good News." The article was reporting on a meeting of UMC bishops wherein recommendation was made to "include petitions to change the Book of Discipline to remove all language prohibiting same-sex weddings and the ordination of self-avowed practicing homosexuals." The Good News is anything but good news. It is a publication by some of the most extreme rightwingnut United Methodists. This publication has been around for at least thirty years because I remember having a "dispute" with my then pastor, Roger Glover, about this hateful manifest. He was very involved in it at the time. He mailed out an edition of the publication using postage from our Danville UMC and I called him out on it and on his bigotry. His response was: "I'll see that you never serve on Pastor Parish Relations again." He also tried to convince me of the "sinful homosexual nature."

The main objective of this publication appears to be spreading hate and lies about gays and transgender people (a/k/a "homosexuals as Good News says). Here is what Gaboury said:

Glen Gaboury says:
May 18, 2018 at 3:01 pm

It is so sad to see this ongoing debate over something GOD has already clearly settled in His Word. I am not a UMC ordained pastor, but I am serving a small conservative UMC church. Even though I love my congregation, I often regret coming into the UMC to serve. This is a BIG distraction from our job of making disciples and it tarnishes our witness both in our local communities and around the world."

I'm sure the United Methodist Church, at least as I know it, regrets Glen Gaboury coming to the UMC. Why can't these people just let other people be?

Re: “Satanic Temple plans to sue state of Arkansas over alleged religious discrimination

Reverend Rapert should be required to pay the inevitable legal expenses from his own pocket. Only when it hits him personally will he stop this stupid s**t. Maybe. Hes a disgrace to his constituents and the entire state.

Re: “Fayetteville: Is Alderman John La Tour capable of learning?

Let us not forget this great John LaTour moment from almost exactly two years ago. Obviously, he does not learn from his mistakes:…

Re: “Arkansas in middle of debate about future of Medicaid and Obamacare

This sounds like if Arkansas lost all these federal $$, what with all the tax cuts, the state would be bankrupt.

Re: “Huge turnout for Tom Cotton town hall

It was an amazing experience. Tom Cotton handled the town hall very well and made Steve Womack look like an amateur. There were some really good questions asked. I was one of the first ones inside and had an excellent seat. There were three rows of seats in front of me blocked off. I inquired and was told they were for Cotton's parents. His parents were there, but they only occupied two seats.

While I didn't agree with much he said, he's good at two stepping around the issues, he did not talk down to us or yell. Womack did that and more yesterday. Cotton was professional and courteous and in control at all times. I have to give him that. Also, he showed up.
