  • Jonathan Wilkins returns to the grill at Argenta Farmers Market

Jonathan Wilkins, the man behind the most delicious bar food Little Rock has ever seen, is cooking again. After leaving White Water Tavern last summer, Wilkins has resurfaced with Arkansas Fresh Bakery, a bakery out of Benton that largely supplies directly to restaurants, but has expansion plans on the horizon. Re: “Bob Ballinger spits on the voters of Arkansas, wants to roll back minimum wage for thousands

A lower minimum for teens working entry level part time jobs makes sense. They need a chance to gain work experience & contribute to their family income, especially if they come from a single parent household.

Re: “Cleaning up the legislature means concrete action and vigilance

Might we see a squad of FBI agents pulling up to the 1836 Club with a chartered bus parking right behind them to round up a whole bunch of 'em some evening before this session is over?

Re: “Rep. Jamie Scott ready to do the hard work

Let's hope she'll look into changing some of the policies of the last several decades that have eliminated so many once plentiful job opportunities open to the youth of our communities.

Re: “Frank Scott to take control of police chief hiring and other powers at City Hall

A good first step would be to pull the plug on all of those free take home patrol cars for non-resident police officers commuting from outside the city limits of LR.

Re: “Tom Cotton cornered at Coon Supper on shutdown

How are our Cuban friends going to get all those dollars with which to purchase Arkansas soybeans, rice, poultry, and CAT tractors, etc. if we Arkansans are not able to purchase their Cuban cigars, rums, sugar, & seafood, etc. in our neighborhood stores? Trade only works when it goes both ways!

Re: “Bold Team OK'd to start cultivating cannabis Rx

And NCTR received shipments of machine rolled marijuana cigarettes from the Mississippi grow farm in large steel cans on a regular basis. The empty cans are now valuable collector items.

Re: “Bold Team OK'd to start cultivating cannabis Rx

Most of the FDA's research on marijuana was done right here in Arkansas at the NCTR labs in Jefferson sometime back in the '80s. Might make some interesting reading or a good interview with some of those local folks who were involved with it if any are still around.
