Re: “Trump engages in junk science in defending end of birth control mandate

Always and everywhere, "Follow the money!" Agreeing with all the comments, I would just simply like to add that it is past time for health care to be sponsored by the employer! It came about following WWII as corporations were wanting to hire good people for a lifetime career and health care benefits were a carrot, and a damn good one. Now employers do not want employees to be retained. It is cheaper to train a new one than give a raise, plus the employees that leave after a couple years are not "vested" in the retirement plan and that money defaults back to the pool for the ones at the top. Glad to be retired.

Re: “French Hill No. 1 with NRA; Tom Cotton popular too. So what about gun control? UPDATE

Sen. Tom Cotton has no imagination if he can't (won't) figure out his own question. Paddock bought the firearms legally. Along with the kits to effectively make them fully automatic. At least I assume he bought them legally. That is exactly the problem. As someone said this week Congress is a wholly owned subsidiary of the NRA. The conversion kits should be outlawed. High capacity magazines should be outlawed. Silencers must continue to be outlawed. This was quickly dropped. If this is not the time for discussion why was it dropped? Tom Cotton especially of our Arkansas group is a rancid tub of human excrement that should be ignored and never elected again to any position. Let him go earn an honest living or starve. Damn, someone got me started.

Lisalisa, please add another comment and provide a link to the "Undisclosed" podcast. I'm techno challenged, old, and demented veteran.

Re: “Who's afraid of Barry Seal?

Mara, thanks for another of so many fine articles. I advise you to watch your back as so many have paid with their lives for what they know. I regret the revenue you have lost from all the work on this that was stifled. Certainly there are connections between so many in high places, the Bushes, Clinton, "The Boys on the Track" (they are certainly in a high place now), Dan Lasater, and perhaps even Dan Harmon. So many stories, so little time, and so much cover-up!

Re: “Governor laments defeat of Obamacare repeal. 300,000-plus Arkansans don't join him

DBI, you are absolutely correct. Some people may "not be able to handle the truth", but I don't think Trump even "can know the truth!" His story changes constantly to keep the serfs confused and in fear. He diverts attention to divide our nation as with the issue of standing or kneeling for the flag instead of real issues such as health care, taxes, PR, and why TWO US destroyers collided with transport ships. It is GREED, hunger for power or riches, or both that guide his life and the GOP so-called leaders are in lockstep! So incredibly sad.

Re: “ACLU: School crisis 60th no time for celebration. Plus, a message for the governor

Thank you Cato1 for your comments. If any of the Ark Nat'l Guardsmen are still in their 70's i'd be damned surprised. My brother was one of those called up and he passed away this past February in his 90's. He was drafted in WWII and rec'd a battlefield commission in France. Retired as a Lt. Col. I regret that he did not have much to say about his "war" experiences. However, he lived his life with utmost honor and never looked down on anyone.

Re: “Permit request withdrawn for LGBTQ homeless transitional housing after nonprofit receives threatening letter

Wow! I'm late getting to this. I want to say that I am so pleased with the posts that I have read regarding this "Christian" that is so damn scared of some homeless kids. Another NIMBY asshole stating that it is a great idea that is wholly (holy) supported, but not in my phucking neighborhood! What is there to be so damn scared of? I've done a bit of work on Harmon and it appears to be an excellent location. If this person does not want to live in a neighborhood with this kind of compassion they should move back to Houston where they had their shelter. I would think they could get something comparable at a nice price. I suppose the problem would be moot if all the straight Christians would just stop having these queer babies.
