Re: “Exile in Guyville at Twin Peaks

how exactly does it make sense to pay for the experience of seeing women dressed a certain way and then berate them for what you just paid for? I bet those "skanks" put up with more bullshit in a day than what most of you put up with in a year.

Re: “BREAKING: KARK's Cummins questioned in Labor Day death

Christ I'm glad I don't work in an industry where my peers would make a quick buck off of publishing the single worst experience of my life.

this poor man.

and you know what? if the gay community in Arkansas wasn't treated like absolute *shit*, maybe incidents like this wouldn't happen as often. how many straight people do drugs or have unconventional sex? how many more would be doing that if the public attacked their families, took away their right to have children, prevented them from marrying, and harassed and bullied them for even mentioning they loved anyone at all?

if Brett had announced he wanted to settle down with a woman everyone he knew would celebrate, half of them would send him money and buy him friggin household appliances. he would have had the chance to practice relationships while everyone in his life offered advice.

if, however, he had even mentioned he wanted to do the same with a man he would have likely lost his job, could very realistically been disowned by his parents, and in some parts of the state risked actual violence. while straight people have usually had dozens of relationships before they're Brett's age, all of which they could admit to, receive advice on, etc, Brett most likely grew up fucking terrified anyone would find out and so did anyone he could possibly have practiced with. so yeah, whatever was happening this weekend sounds a bit sketchy to me, too, but the hateful assholes who are mocking him now abused and tortured our entire community for decades and, *shockingly*, some of us are still experimenting like most straight people did in college when we're a bit older. some of us are still as awkward as middle school folks in our 20s, some of us were threatened with beatings if we ever practiced connecting to each other in non-sexual ways, so fucking pardon us when our relationships aren't up to the shining 50% failure rate your holy straight unions enjoy. nearly 1/4 of straight women will be raped in their lifetimes, and about the same percentage report *never* having an orgasm during sex. you think heterosexuals are beacons of functionality? get over yourself.

don't flatter yourself and pretend stable relationships form in a vacuum. if you're mocking him now, you were mocking us in high school too, and you're partially responsible for the drugs, the promiscuity, and the disease you fucking relegated our community to when you kicked us out of prom, beat us up in the locker rooms, spat in our faces when we tried to get married, and tried to take our children away.
