Re: “Evangelicals making tracks in Hot Springs

I like the tone of the story, I do however wish Leslie could have touched upon the entire city administration and chief who are singleing out businesses and their stock, some harmful some not, and unfairly censoring their stock based upon the administrations personal beliefs, NOT THE LAW. I know of one business that has been open 30 some odd years that was threatened with nuisance law arrests and store closings if they did not pull certain merchandise from their shelves. These are good Christian people as I'm sure alot of other business owners are that have been targeted. But in this town at least, Christian Democrats do not seem to be considered true Christians in the eyes of the Christian Republicans. Regardless of all the Separation business (I applaud the drug court for it's success but think the Mayor's husband needs to tighten the leash a bit on his wife) the administration should not be allowed to take someone's livelihood right out from under them just because they can. They know that these small businesses do not have the money to fight them and can't risk losing everything to make the point. It's not fair and I implore all you small businesses in question (you know who you are). Keep a tape recorder handy at all times and when the officers, detectives etc. come in to do their checklists at your store, RECORD EVERY WORD THEY SAY. If the businessman I know would have done that during one of these "visits" in his store, the entire administration would be crumbling right about now.
