Re: “Tracy Steele announces for NLR mayor

Mr. Rizzardi:

If you check into the program you speak of, that particular project with the LRSD was funded by New Futures for Little Rock youth and it was restricted by them to the LRSD. Mr. Steele's STAND foundation has helped many young people to count and I am sure you will be hearing from some of those successful young people who because of STAND have done very well in their lives. So your facts are about half right. I will say that Mr. Steele has always assisted anyone with issues related to youth, no matter the community.

Also, in Mr. Brantley's original post, I see he is still talking about STAND's funding and so forth. Nonprofits, by law, are forbidden from participating in politics, yet on this very night, one of the candidates for mayor is having a fund raiser of the NLR elite at the Argenta Community Theater, a nonprofit, which by the way, got a 150k cash gift from the city of NLR. That particular nonprofit is managed and was founded by the same person who is running the campaign of the person having the fundraiser there tonight. Isn't that an issue? It is to me.
