Re: “UCA to host town hall today on campus carry bill

Higher education officials should be allowed to decide what is right for their campus. The police and security at the Universities across the state have spoken out against this as there is no safe way in an active shooter situation to determine in a split second who is the good guy and who is the bad guy when citizens pull out their guns and take matters into their own hands. As an employee at a University in the state this concerns me greatly. The concealed carry class requirements are weak and in no way prepare a basic citizen to step into a situation that this legislator keeps talking about happening and resolving by concealed carry. He is only making the possibility of an active shooter situation more probable with all the extra guns on campus, lack of properly securing their guns, and the confusion caused in a situation that could possibly have been resolved without gun fire.

Leave the decision in the hands of the administration and police at the universities.
