Re: “Little Rock's budget shortfall is about more than Internet

Maybe the city should take a good look at why people and commerce are leaving the City of Little Rock.

Re: “None dare mention condemnation on THIS

I relate closing the gap on the river trail to patching a gaping wound for Little Rock. Yes we have a river trail, yes it's complete on the NLR side...no it's not complete on the LR side? Why? Because City Hall and our City Board of Directors need to care about the city, and find out how to show they care to the people.

If you want to attract business and revenue to Little Rock, it needs more greenways (that are maintained), proper road maintenance, and a complete streets plan that includes accounting for pedestrian and bicycle traffic. We need children and young adults to be able to safely ride their bike or walk to a neighborhood school. We need to show that the city has safe areas outside of the river trail of exercise such as running and cycling.

One day the city will stop wasting money and spend it wisely to be able to fund this without sticking another tax increase on the poor.

Re: “Tech park board gets an earful

Honestly many cities around the country have made attempts to boost local economy with technology parks. Most have failed miserably. This is a waste of millions of tax dollars that could be spent on improving the overall appearance of the city. Street and greenway maintenance comes to mind. Cleaning up areas of downtown that are nothing but boarded up buildings, and making in enticing for businesses to populate them again. Working on our public transportation and making this a more pedestrian and bike friendly city. Wasting 22 million dollars to entice technology companies into the area is a joke when we have one power grid.
