Re: “Another change at Milligan's office: employee fired

Something always lies just beneath the surface? If Mlligan were a Democrat, would you still be.....never mind! Of COURSE you wouldn't. Comparing him to Soviet commissars, implicating wrongdoing, it never freaking ends. Shedding employees? He's fired one guy. He had a right, and likely had a reason as well. Do you guys follow Democrats around, putting a microscope to every personnel matter? REALLY? "Oh! Milligan fired someone today! Somebody jump on the story so he'll look like a monster!" And to think I have to live in the same world with people like you. What a burden to bear.

Re: “Milligan staffers campaigned for him while nonprofit employees; question on payment raised

Remember, readers, this is the Arkansas Times. Things favorable to Republicans are not permitted in reporting or commentary. Nor are mistakes permitted, unless made by liberal Democrats. All mistakes made by Republicans are crimes. This is reminiscent of the witch hunts done on "Republican" Mayor Jill Dabbs in Saline County. Every misstep, every error, every turn of a corner, FIND IT and pound him with it. Innocent until proven guilty of something? Are you kidding? Rushing to judgment before the facts are known? Not here. Tried. Guilty. Hung. Such a shame. I remember something called "due process." The average reader, low information voters or scalded liberals all, will not even fully understand what they are reading here, or why it's deemed so serious. One can only wonder what a perfect political world looks like to Mr. Brantley. All Democrats. Republicans dead or dying by the side of the road. Rainbow flags on every flagpole where Old Glory once flew. Multi-cultures outnumbering white males by 8 to 1. Hillary as President -- forever. Now I'll have a nightmare tonight.

Re: “Jeremy Hutchinson's ex-girlfriend arrested for battery in scrap

Theodosius, you made your point. If you are genuinely offended, then I can respect that. I don't endorse what this guy did on a personal level. I've been married for over 30 years to the same woman, so I'm kind of on the record as supporting traditional marriage and fidelity myself.

But this is old news made new again by the lady losing control and lashing out at the senator. That it's Hutchinson who was attacked is the only reason it's being paid attention to. What he did in his marriage is not worthy of further attention, if we are really taking the position that his private life is his business.

If we're taking the position that his personal indiscretions exclude him and his family from public office, then we've got a whole lot of people to go after if we've set those new and strict standards. I wish everyone in politics would live their faith, and it's hard to respect people who commit adultery and praise them as public servants.

But he has more than paid for his mistakes. His marriage ended painfully. And now, it appears that the relationship that replaced it, as is often the case, went sour as well. I would also remind you, and those taking shots at him, that HE was the one that was attacked physically, as her arrest and the police report seem to indicate. That makes HIM the victim this time, the injured party, the wronged man.

He has a right to be in his home and not be attacked. If you or anyone else wants to take exception with his record, go for it. Base it on what he's done in the Senate, not on what is done behind his closed home doors.

Re: “Jeremy Hutchinson's ex-girlfriend arrested for battery in scrap

Thanks. Now we know where you were and how you knew. You have answered the question, and I appreciate it. I'll take your word for it. A senator, single since 2011, brought a lady with him to a conference at a hotel, and being some kind of state employee or elected official in attendance, or a member of hotel staff, you saw it. I guess the words "So what?" come to mind, but that's not relevant to the question so I'll pass. Have a good day.

No, I'm talking about the part about legislative trips. When my senators and representatives go on legislative trips, I generally don't know who is in the car. What I want to know is how you know who is in the car.

Re: “Jeremy Hutchinson's ex-girlfriend arrested for battery in scrap

He's not my friend, jamesp, I only voted for him. And exactly how in the hell would you know things like this? "He left his wife for this waitress in 2010 and they have been together ever since, even bringing her on legislative trips in recent months."

WTF? Are you hiding in his trunk or something?

"Hmmm... Sillyville created his profile today just in time for NoOne to have a conversation with him."

We're not friends, if that's your point. He or she is entitled to their opinion, as are you.

Sounds like you can't handle anyone not agreeing with you, Theodosius. Not everyone on here is a basher.
