Re: “Sunday open line

Norma, just stick with facts, why don't you? One (and ONLY one) father. (not "families") chose not to claim his son's body in the aftermath of the Orlando tragedy.
And some research done in 2014 revealed 74% Protestants in PR do not support same sex marriage compared to 42% of Catholics.
Nowhere in any news accounts is this fathers refusal to claim his son, is religion mentioned as a reason for abandonment. Could it be that he simply ashamed that his son was not as manly as he had hoped? Puerto Rico, like many Latino areas, are very macho, if you will, and any deviance from that is frowned upon as a CULTURE not necessarily as a RELIGION.

Re: “Gee, thanks, Exxon. How about spilling more oil on us?

"Grip & Grin" indeed. Mayflower SHOULD have handed the check back and said: "Bring that back with at least one more zero on it and we might be good"

I still think that the 200,000 Gallons spilled number is far too low. My math, and it may be flawed, comes up with a much higher number.n

Re: “The Costco rumor mill cranks up again

I wish that Costco would see the future that is Conway and park that store there. In MA, there was Costco, BJ's and Sams Club. Costco was far and away the best of them.

Re: “Can you afford a fuel tax increase? A can of soda pop every week?

I'd rather they tax the can of soda. If you were to tax carbonated and sweetened beverages at the same rate as alcohol is taxed, you could likely subsidize health care for EVERYONE, not just the elite few.
And if you put a nickel charge on every beverage bottle or can, the sides of our roads wouldn't look like crap AND some enterprising folks would have a supplemental revenue stream to supplement their income.
