Re: “Waiver consideration for the LRSD on State Board of Ed agenda sparks concern from LRSD advocates

Yet again, the Waltons/ Asa and their underlings appear to be up to no good. Funny how Republicans used to love to talk about local control, states rights, etc., yet they are completely fine with doing this dirty business when it suits them.

It would be helpful if people all over AR would wake up and pay attention. It can happen in ANY district. That teacher your kid loves so much could easily end up on their bad side and without the Teacher Fair Dismissal Act, they could be fired without just cause. It would be fabulous to see Arkansans across the state send emails to the State Board Members this week, sharing opposition to the waiver.

Re: “Denise Garner defeats Charlie Collins in House race

A small piece of good news for AR! Collins is such a POS. Look forward to Denise serving our state!

Re: “Little Rock schools and teachers continue negotiating UPDATE

Please call the Governors office (email too) and share your thoughts on how wrong Asa/Key are on this. Public outcry from all over the state is needed.

Re: “So much wrong in Johnny Key's attack on teacher firing law

Please keep expressing outrage over this and call the Governors office! We need help, support, and calls from all over the state. The teachers here cant do it alone. #501-682-2345

Please call the Governors office to voice your concerns, outrage, etc. Lots of voices need to be heard on this. Thanks for seeing how wrong this is. 501-682-2345.

Re: “Teachers respond to state's break from contract agreement

Please take time to email and call both Johnny Key and Asa to share your frustrations with this. They need to hear from people around the state, not just teachers in the district.

Taking away The Fair Teacher Dismissal Act from the entire state is a goal the Republicans have had for a while. If some of the same ones show up in Januarys legislative session, you can bet there will be another bill to try. Republicans have decided to target teachers and do all they can to ruin careers and stop more people from going into the field.

As far as Little Rock teachers walking out goes, thats likely what Johnny/Asa/Waltons have wanted since January, 2015. Then they can mass fire the group. Its truly sickening to see what this bunch is attempting.

Re: “Johnny Key moves to weaken or end agreement with Little Rock teachers union

Before the AR Dept of Ed takeover in January, 2015, 6 LRSD schools were deemed as failing, based on the state standardized tests used at that time. SIX. Now, there are 16. During these past 4 years, it was supposed to be the responsibility of the ADE to help the district academically. Instead, they have focused on fiscal issues and have continually allowed more charter schools to spring up all over the District. Many of the charters have also scored poorly on the state testing but they are never dealt with. They have also changed the standardized tests used in the state 3 or 4 times. So comparing the scores each year gives no consistent data.

This takeover has always been about turning the district into a charter school Mecca so that certain people can profit off of students. This has never been about making the district better.
