Re: “Tax legislation heightens inequality, limits state governments. No wonder Tom Cotton loves it.

The US needs a strong third party or for the Democratic Party to get back toward the Blue-Dog Center. ... programs for the poor but possibly linked to offsets on their taxes if are on public programs. Higher taxes on the rich and corporations but encourage the rollback of excessive CEO/CFOs' salaries by allowing corporations to own the homes and cars of their CEOs etc and provide those homes as a tax-free benefit.

Re: “State Rep. Charles Blake blasts city push to shut down rap show

Max, I'm disappointed that you failed to mention this time that the "alarm" over the show was spread by the city manager and the city police chief, both, in case you missed the news, are black. You can't blame everything on the mayor or a politician. Some decisions are just common sense based on the news reports and reports your police provide.

Re: “City spending on I-30 ditch no longer a 'consent' item on board agenda

Max,
Stop thinking little turf of Little Rock.
If some politicians from one part of the state had not disliked Little Rock leaders, Argenta would still be the 8th Ward, Levy would be the 9th Ward, Park Hill the 10th Ward, Rose City the 11th Ward, Indian Hills and Sherwood would be the 12th Ward and Maumelle would be the 13th Ward.
Cities grow.
People in LR work north of the river too, besides commuters coming into town, shopping in LR.
And, don't worry about the moved choked points. Once we get across the river, most people know several different roads to take if one is backed up or under construction.
The advantage we in the suburbs have is more direct control over our school boards and city councils, with 10 ward members for 25,000 to 30,000 population towns vs 10 city councilmembers for 175K. Our traffic is slower too. We know our own school supers and school board members.

Re: “At town hall, Little Rock school patrons question state education officials on charters, local control

Max and Benji,
I know the Little Rock school district and the take over is a popular liberal cause.

But this moderate sees another side of the issue and the turn out. You guys have 100,000 people in your district, about 20,000 kids, YET you only managed to get 100 people to turn out? PATHETIC. Who is in charge doesn't matter. It's how responsive people in charge are to YOUR concerns with your kids that matters.

That lousy turnout sure shows most of the parents are apathetic and don't care if the state is in charge. Dr. Guess and the state were the best thing to happen to the Jacksonville area for PCSSD and the new Jax school district! A PCSSD board would never have agreed to a divorce!

PCSSD and John Walker would never have agreed to a divorce and separation. Firing Dr. Guess was the worst mistake the new PCSSD board could make, especially for Sherwood and Maumelle getting their own districts.

The best thing folks in LR could do would be to push for the merger of LRSD and the south side of PCSSD so Maumelle and Sherwood could get their own little territories.

Re: “Short-sighted Republicans stop planning grant for LR-Hot Springs trail

spend the money for a North side commuter path plu to Benton. Money should be spent where traffic is the worse.

Re: “Supreme Court exacts more payback from Court of Appeals

What happens if they refuse? You can't fire them.
