Re: “'I just want them to stop ...'

Typical for Arkansas Education, all complaints no matter how serious fall on deaf ears whether at the school level or administration level. I myself have witnessed incidents of what any rational person would consider to be extreme bullying not by students but by teachers or higher up and not once have they addressed my concern. Apparently, this is how it works here. The school district looks the other way when their staff commit wrongs against students but students should never step out of line and I mean that literally. If my son or any of his third grade classmates step out of their allotted square of tile while lining up to leave the lunchroom, on one day they were told they would get detention. At my other son and daughters school (5th grade) they are now punished with losing their recess if their bladder should ever inconveniently need to be relieved during actual class-time. I just have to wonder what anyone who feels the need to treat children so cruelly really has to offer my children. If on the other hand I wanted my children to learn first hand how to degrade, humiliate, and bully people, all I have to do is say "Use your teachers as your role models." As it is, I just have to tell my children, when you are at school and they are being mean to you just remember it's not personal, if they could behave better I'm sure they would.
