Intentional manipulation of emotions seems to be a skill that preachers and politicians have as an asset when dealing with the public. Being capable of telling a moving story in a convincing way is simply a desired skill. It doesn't matter if it's true or not but the trick is to say it with conviction and deliver it with a definite style that mesmerizes or engages the listener. Huck will say he misspoke which is another acceptable tactic that appeases the public. That's what has happened in America with leadership positions - intentional manipulation without remorse. A sense of ethics is lacking in so many instances from people who call themselves public leaders; from many in the pulpit; and from many on the floor of Congress and in state legislatures. We citizens have to do the work and research information before making decision about leadership potential in business, politics; Congress and religion.
