Re: “Ruth Coker Burks, the cemetery angel

I had a high school friend who became ill in 1986. He had lived in Paris but came home to Arkansas. I tried my best to find him so that we could visit. My Daddy had been his pastor in Dumas, AR. Daddy talked to the father but he would not tell him the location. Jerry went back to Paris and died in the same hospital where Rock Hudson had been. I still regret not being able to find him and talk. He had a life full of adventure. He had done a film about the Delta and also a book with a French author. Our 50th HS reunion will be next year. At our 20th, he was the only classmate who had died. I'll always remember the times we had together, we were close friends. And I will always regret not being able to talk one more time.
