Great feature! Lots of great LR concert memories for me - the Meat Puppets at some warehouse near UALR; R.E.M. at Robinson; many Brave Combo shows; the late, great S.O.B.'s, where I saw Alex Chilton, Black Flag, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Rodney Crowell, and many others; Robyn Hitchcock and Camper Van Beethoven at Juanita's; Springsteen at Alltel; Merle Haggard opening for the Stones at Verizon; KISS nearly every year at Barton Colliseum..Glen Campbell's last tour at Robinson; many, many Riverfest memories.
Absolutely one of the best shows I've seen in a long, long time.
I heard there was a log jam of power chairs and Scooters at the arena doors following the concert. Tragic.
I'm an adjunct in the state university system, too, for the princely sum of $1500.00 gross per class per semester. Didn't agree to it for the money; have a day job that gets me by -- it essentially amounts to my "pocket" money. The motivation, hope against hope, was to get a foot in the door to some type of employment in the state university system that MIGHT get me some sort of cost break when my kids reach college age. I DO find that I enjoy it, though, and what was supposed to be one semester to help out in a personnel bind has turned into five semesters and counting.
Great idea! Lots of memories there. Definitely right about that "smoky haze."

When all of these bro-country idiots fade away to state fairs and casinos, maybe you'll consider an Americana station.
