Re: “Police make arrest in hit and run

For someone out there reading this story, this could be an extremely fortunate cautionary tale. If your drinking is causing you grief or causing grief for someone in your life, get some help. If you are an alcoholic and live in Little Rock, you're in luck. There's no better place to get sober.

The AA meetings that I attend include all sorts of professionals --- doctors and attorneys and various PhD holders plus lots of people with lesser academic credentials, men and women, gay and straight, old and young, and all ethnicities. There's an old AA aphorism that says no one is too stupid to get sober, but some people are too smart to get sober. I've seen a lot of professionals drink themselves into the grave because they were too smart to get sober.

Re: “The Monday Democrat-Gazette was slimmer this morning

Thanks for keeping me updated on the content of the DoG. I cancelled my subscription years ago. News about the DoG is like hearing about something Rush Limbaugh said. I'll never get it firsthand.

Re: “Walmart closing Riverdale market

Kroger is OK for edible stuff, but Ill need a new source of paper products, cleaning and laundry supplies, OTC drugs, and many other nonedible items. Suggestions?

Asa and his minions see what you see, Max. They just don't see it a problem.
