Re: “Legislators talk private option at Political Animals panel

Arkansas better than most southern states . Our hospitals are even closing due to lack of Medicaid expansion.

Re: “Rep. Murdock: private option amendment limiting non-emergency transportation will have safeguards for neediest citizens

If you are on Medicaid , you are very, very poor and needy. Requirement to receive.

Re: “The good Huckabee

The current Republican mandra about public sector jobs not really being jobs is really stupid. One of these comments was impressed that some firement did not push for a new fire station. We had a fancy new town in our county, with no fire station. Watched big fancy brand new houses burn to the ground. And the property insurance rates were as high as the insurance companies could raise them. Poor fire protection means very high property insurance, much higher than the taxes would have been to build and staff a fire station. I guess what most government employees do is protect what we already have, whether from the weather, food safety or crooks, which many government regulations ae trying to reign in. Also little details such as public safety.

Re: “Republican hypocrisy examined

Remember Mr. Duggar was in the state legislature and ran for Congress. Wanted to leave his wife home to raise and school the 13 kids they had then. At least we only have him on television now.

Re: “Tornado alley

I now live in Florida and took me a month to learn what was happening in Ark. It has been amazing since then trying to find news of damage there. Diane Sawyer from Memphis said Mississippi was 2 miles wide in flood stage, did not seem to realize most of that extra river was in Arkansas! I search and search, only mention of Missouri, Mississippi, Louisiana, Memphis and now Missouri tornadoes. Did see a news story where the Republicans were blaming Obama for not putting enough disaster relief into his budget, Yossarian. Just like Ryan blaming Democrats for misrepresenting his Medicare plan, when they had claimed "death Panels" on Democrats. Republicans trying to convince over 55 that younger people did not concern them did not work, most of us remember struggling to get health care before we turned 65.

Re: “Have older folks gone Republican?

I loved Ryan's charges that the Democrats misrepresented his Medicare proposal. I do hope that the elderly, who in my admittedly senile opinion, spend too much time listening to FOX, can remember the "death panel" and other attacks on "Obamacare". I want more limitations on care when I am dying. No feeding tubes extending dying in nursing homes, no heart bypasses when I have suffered from severe dementia for years. What I have observed in Medicare Advantage is that needed specialists are not provided: friend recently was referred to Optomatrist when she had detached retina, he, of course, referred her immediately to opthamologist, may have been too late to save her eyesight. Same thing happened with her husbands terrible hip pain, months before referred to proper doctor, had even sent him to psychiatrist! Emergency hip replacement was the result of delay. Eye problems should go first to specialists, not to primary doctor.

Re: “Corporate welfare goes religious

If you think this is bad check out Tennessee's law against terrorism. Does anyone think they are going after the Klan? Florida legislators are trying to give tax money to religions.
