Re: “House passes cursive writing mandate

I hope this passes. Kids today can NOT tell the time of a clock with actual hour and minute hands, they can't add, subtract, multiply or divide even the simplest of numbers without a damn calculator. Forget actually writing words on a paper, they can't do it! They can't punctuate properly, and I'm not talking about semicolons vs. colons, I'm talking about simple things like when to use an apostrophe to denote possession.
Haven't we dumbed down the kids enough? They need to actually use their brain cells to learn, we're graduating a generation of idiots that won't be able to tell if someone is screwing them over in a simple retail transaction.
Writing things out long hand, while slow and seemingly "antiquated" makes us all think about the WHAT of what they're writing actually IS.
Stop letting kids off the hook, it's just making them as stupid as the rest of the world thinks we already are.
