Re: “LR Confidential 2015

I like the country club worker story because I belong to one. Not that one because mine is owned by a corporation that gives its employees health insurance, vacation pay, guaranteed salary, comp time, holiday bonuses and other benefits that are offered to all the corporate employees. No visa workers. It's a decent job with good benefits which maintains a great workforce. They put up with a lot of crap from entitled-feeling people - Which is a drag - but the members view them as entrusted confidants who happen to bring them food and drinks. Some have been there for many years. Love them all.

Re: “State Board of Education takes over Little Rock School District

The LRSD is historically poison. They are more concerned with getting jobs for their supporters. There are too many people working in administration and not enough people actually teaching kids. A pubic school is the backbone of a city and the LR schools are terrible. TERRIBLE. Max will say what a great education his kids' got - even though his daughter plagiarized a paper in college (guess she didn't learn how to write one at Central). Why are businesses going to Conway and NW AR? They have great public schools.

Re: “Charter 'choice': creationism

Unfortunately, Central High School is no longer an option for kids who live in west Little Rock.

Re: “Police investigate Mount St. Mary complaint UPDATE

This happens everywhere, at all types of schools. I hate that it happened, but so glad the girl told her parents, and the school did a great job of handling it. Seven years ago the same thing happened at Pulaski Academy. A married, male coach had a relationship with a student. Parents found out about it through the news and gossip. He was fired (and I think he sued the school), but PA admin. wouldn't discuss it with parents. PA lost a lot of students from the way it dealt with the situation. Funny thing - everyone blamed the girl for "hitting" on the popular coach. These teens have a child's brain in a grown up body and are easy prey for unscrupulous adults. The adults know better - the kids don't.
