Re: “State Rep. Hudson Hallum pleads wth 3 others in absentee vote fraud case; resigns from legislature

Very disappointed with the Democratic Party in Arkansas. The inside information on this case was known to them as early as May 2011, but they were so concerned about winning the seat that they turned a deaf ear and a blind eye to it. The State Election Commission and the Secretary of State's office were informed that early as well, and basically said, "Meh". Law enforcement took it seriously, and it was obvious to any impartial observer that the corruption in Crittenden County was deep and wide. There was one candidate in that election who stood up for honest government, though, and that is the ONLY reason that these roaches ever saw the light of day. It wasn't enough to make me join the Republican Party, but it did make me quit referring to myself as a Democrat.

@ eLwood: Well, "absentee vote fraud" works, because that is what it was - massive, concerted effort to steal an election by collecting unmarked ballots, or collecting ballots that had been influenced by bribe or intimidation, and also by throwing away absentee ballots that were marked for an opponent. I'm not sure how this is not exactly absentee vote fraud.

Re: “The Tuesday line

Max - What is going on in Crittenden County is a good deal different than the voter caging in Florida. All of this started from the Democratic primary and the abuse of the absentee ballot procedures there, not with the Republicans. Crittenden County elections are rotten to the core. Do a little research Max. There's a really good column in it. But don't make assumptions that this particular case has to do with Republican stunts. I understand why you think that, and I would too, if I didn't know the situation first hand, but there is some serious voter fraud going on over there, and everyone in the Democratic Party wants it to go away because they want the seat so badly.
I have been a Democrat for over 40 years, but I'm telling you that what the party is doing in West Memphis is turning a blind eye to real corruption. Call the candidates from the Democratic primary to find out.
