Re: “The Quapaw Quarter fence height rule at issue again

Wow, I can't believe this is being discussed again. I've driven by the house many times with the 48" fence and what they have done to it is incredible.

Before Cowan moved in, there were homeless people sleeping on the porch. I mean, don't get me wrong, homeless people lounging on the porch of the original governor's mansion is surely historically accurate. How dare these people!? Moving in to this neighborhood with the audacity to breathe life into a crumbling piece of history?! Why, better for it to rot than to have a fence with an extra 8 inches to keep certain people from defecating in the historically-accurate flower beds.

I've also driven around the surrounding streets and seen extremely modern "boxes" slated as houses, as well as tall wood fences that completely block any view of the house (including a committee member's home). Then there are the others with boards over all the windows and doors to keep out vagrants.

I have also seen this Cowan person, whom a group of anonymous message board junkies have made out to be some sort of villian, outside working on that house most days, himself.

At least this is carrying on on the Internet, so no paper is wasted on this lousy topic. I'm baffled at how petty and ridiculous this is.

I pitty those leading this slanderous war. Your lives must be so vacant. There's this thing, called 'actual news', and this doesn't qualify.
