PoP goes the Lit Fest

Writers belly up to the bar for AT.

What would the Arkansas Literary Festival be without the latest installment of Pub or Perish, the free bar reading sponsored by Arkansas Times? This year, PoP will go down smooth on Saturday, April 21, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A party hosted by the Oxford American is to follow.

With a standing-room-only crowd last year, PoP 2007 has moved to the more spacious Arkansas Ballroom at the Peabody Hotel. Never fear: a cash bar will be available.

Along with the best and brightest local writers, PoP will feature ALF featured authors Tom Franklin and Jack Pendarvis, poet Patricia Spears-Jones, UCA poet Terry Wright, and a special musical intermission by Sean Rock and Roland Gladden. A number of open mic slots will be available on a first-come-first-served basis, so bring your own work.

For more information, call David Koon at 375-2985.
