Re: “Dermott schools struggle; football targeted

I would like to say who in their right mind do not want thier children to have their own school in their community. How would you like for someone to come to in your home and tell you to move because they just want your house. Are you going to fight or take flight. This is the exact same thing that we as citzens and students are saying. How do you hire a Superintendent to look out for your public school interest and he's has set out to tear the School apart so that, Corner Stone Christian Academy can take over our Building and Community. If they want a school (Corner Stone) let them building thier own schools.
Our town built this school these are our memories and we are standing our ground. Alton Newton has turn a blind eye and does not have the best intrested for our children. He is trying to take Advance Placement Classes from our children inconjunction with the sports. There are plenty of small towns schools that are still in operations.
He need to take a look at his budget where he has made up jobs for friends in the Administration that are making over $40,000-$50,000 a year. Newton talks about the football team he's spending $50,000 a year but if you look at the budget that on on the Dermott High School web page it show that not one penny was spent on the program. That he did not spend a dime on the program(football) so where is the money for the last three years, that adds up to over $150,000. Check the fact people before you cast a stones at our community and school.
