Re: “Food truck fight

say...was that a city worker cleaning up after the show?
Are my tax dollars paying for this carnival??????!!!
Where is the good Mayor Stodola? Don't we need some input from Mr. "I don't want you because you look homeless" downtown supporter?
That's right, doesn't he sit in on this Partnership? Wink, wink.
Partnership must be the home of budding republicans, using tax dollars to roll over the little guy, so her friends can become the big guy. What, you own a truck too, Mrs. Priest?

Re: “Food Truck Friday takes bite out of business: UPDATE

I think the point is being missed with regard to moving the location around. If this is to highlight Main Street? Why not move it around Main Street? Why not SoMa they would love the attention, the new VA center, that would be a nice welcome, how about the Rep and focus on all the chages they have made?
Saying not to move it is the same argument they are making about you. How does this help Main Street?
Camping in the same location just shows them a gravel lot, what progress is that?
Spread the love......don't hate because a guy is protecting his livelyhood, I'll bet you would do the same for your family!

Re: “Food Truck Friday takes bite out of business: UPDATE

I know these people. I have worked downtown for 8 years. All of them have families and work hard to keep the restaurants open despite the economy, food prices and high rent downtown. They have invested hundreds of thousands in the local economy by hiring people, donation to local events, and supporting other businesses. It's not just these two, ask around. Clearly the trucks can't handle the demands a restaurant can, twice now these guys have failed to meet the demands of downtown diners and caused hour long waits themselves.

The restaurants must be getting something right to last this long, when others have folded or moved to greener pastures. I know of atleast 10 places that have closed downtown in the last few years. They lost it all!

I think the idea here is not fear of more competition but how this downtown group is paying for the permits, cleaning up after the trucks, providing tables, security and advertising and think the restaurants should just suck it up. Since when is ok for the city to help one business over the other. Talk about unfair competition. Last time I saw that people lost thier job and charges were filed.

Who is really benifiting from this? That should be the question!
