Re: “Gyronne Buckley was sent to prison for life on the word of a cop who has been called a disgrace to the state

To clarify further I do have a problem with an innocent person being convicted of a crime and being imprisoned but he was not found to be innocent. He was released due to a technicality. If you think about this: if a known (to the police) drug dealer is involved in several documented undercover buys but the informants & key witnesses to the crime (plural as in more than 1) keep disappearing and are never found again, does that make the drug dealer innocent? If in your book it does then we obviously have very different standards and definitions of what innocence means.

Kevin - What I gather from your response is that YOU are the one that has a preconceived stereotype about me. I read this article as well as many others re: this case and only see where he showed the writer of this article (and someone who is advocating for him) his notebooks and handwritten receipts. I don't see where he was able to provide the courts or an impartial jury that same "evidence", do you? I'm a business owner and can tell you that when you operate a business you keep your transactions well documented as well as filing your income and corporate taxes. It would be VERY easy to prove you were running a business unless you are not legally doing so to avoid paying taxes or to hide where or how the inventory was obtained (and a plethora of other offenses). FYI - to dispel your "preconceived stereotype" I proudly worked as a supporter and advocate for incarcerated mothers and fathers as well as their families for a wonderful not-for-profit, and I'm an educated proud liberal Latina. Boom.

What? Sounds like a scary dude and yeah, I believe if a drug dealer told me that he'd send me home in a box and they wouldn't find any body I'd take that as a threat. I'd like to hear more about the other confidential informants that never showed up and haven't ever been located... guess he meant it when he said they wouldn't find "no body". Scary knowing this dude is free due to technical BS and that he wants the taxpayers to make him rich with a huge payout! Are you kidding? He's lucky he's not serving life in prison! If he was running a clothing business with people frequently going in and out of his house he should easily be able to prove it with his corporate & income tax filings for all those years.

Re: “Hearing set in West Memphis Three case

Interested to find out the results from the new DNA tests. I don't have a dog in this fight so I'll leave it up to science. I currently live in New York but was raised in Little Rock and have always been amused at the ignorance of so many people when speaking about the case. They often talk about how "backwoods" West Memphis is and how ignorant people from there are... then I ask them to show me on a map where it is... right across the river from Memphis, TN. I have family from there and they go to shop, eat and work in Memphis and have a hard time believing people were so willing to wrongly convict teenagers because they liked heavy metal & wore black like is often portrayed in the media. I think there must have been more to it (oh yeah, besides the confession). God bless all of the families hurt by this horrific crime.
