This happened to me, but in my case it never got to trial because the crime lab won't enter my kit into the offender database because it's a mixed sample (meaning I had had sex with my boyfriend in the previous week). They can only do a suspect to DNA comparison, and for that to happen I would have had to have seen his face (which didn't happen), or someone is going to have to come forward with information (and I don't see the good folks on the south side of Little Rock wanting to cooperate with police for a variety of reasons). Good luck getting a clear DNA sample if you are sexually active. And people wonder why rape victims, even forcible stranger rape victims (such as myself or the teacher in this article) rarely come forward. You get raped twice, once by the man and once by the court. It's easier, and less heartbreaking, to let it go. Psh.
