Re: “Governor puts lobbyist on Capitol Zoning commission

DBI is right, as per usual. My guess is that he'll wait until after re-election before he really starts doing things like killing CZ. I suspect there will be a lot of mergers, eliminations & other movements towards irrelevancy.

There is one group that can apparently stop A$a, it seems and that's Farm Bureau. They didn't want 'smaller gobmint' for the Plant Board & other ag agencies and they were not consumed. Farm Bureau remains ridiculously overpowered despite there being fewer farmers & shrinking ag constituency.

Re: “Four charged in daycare van death UPDATE on 'sensitive' daycare outbreak

I can't imagine how this 'man' lives with himself. His singular legislative focus appears to be making his business prosper via lowering the 'expensive' burden of safety precautions. Such a self-centered focus is unfathomable to me. I couldn't sleep if this were me.
Max's point about the special treatment his organization was given and its directly leading to this child's death due to the lack of closure of the facility is spot on. My heart aches. I can't help but feel people this callous simply only care about themselves & their bottom line. For shame.

Re: “Legislative audit faults relationship between former state tech chief and vendor

While I know there are many charlatans in the GOP & the world, my experience tells me there are many who are true believers philosophically. Then life happens. Greed. Temptation. Hubris, etc. I get that.

It's the fact that these sinners, dare I say these humans, fall from grace. But, rather than adjust their philosophy based upon life experience and begin to practice some level of grace they double down on the judgement & temptation narrative. "I have sinned" they say. Forgiveness they expect. It's not something they give or practice. You don't deserve it if you're not self-righteous.

That's the divide.

Hard core right wingers double down on the failings of the flesh & ask forgiveness. Those who start out more open-minded have an evolution of thought & try to be understanding.

This guy, he's in the former category. He & his ilk, they forget grace. It's love without condition. And we are far worse off for it.

Re: “Republican challenger emerges for Steve Womack

Eisenhower Republican, huh? Interesting that despite the Arkansas legacy he didn't choose the phrase 'Rockefeller Republican'. I can only guess that's because the current line has thrown their lot in with the far right wing nuts. Like the rest of the GOP, party & power over policy & progress.

Re: “'Dumber than a box of hammers': Leslie Rutledge roasted again for CNN time

Fascinating. She continually makes a fool of herself on these national TV appearance but just can't seem to stop herself despite constantly being mocked & ridiculed. Now this isn't the normal partisan ridicule but across the aisle 'she's a moron & don't let her embarrass our party' type. Her ego must be huge despite her IQ being tiny.

Re: “After tax vote, what next for Little Rock School District?

I am somewhat hopeful that this is a sign that long complacent LR citizens have had enough and that this anger will boil over into city elections. That is only so hopefully until we get rid of the at-large seats but maybe it's a start. See ya Stodola.

Re: “CJRW lands state Parks and Tourism ad contract

Color exactly no one surprised. Gotta give it to CJRW. They saw the changes on the political forefront and moved fairly quickly to adapt and change. Not something you see in a lot of organizations.

I mean, the other side of the coin is they sold their soul for the $ but that presumes their core values were anything but money.
