Re: “Key approves Little Rock sale of school building to Waltons. Purpose still not revealed.

Poore has sent an email to LRSD staff stating, in part, the following regarding the Garland building and it's sale to KLS Leasing:

"Please know that we did get market value for the property, we did seek offers on this property for almost a year, and we do have an obligations under new legislation to sell the property to any interested buyer.

The companies that purchased each of these buildings (speaking about 4 total buildings sold in the past year, including Garland) presented plans for re-purposing that DID NOT (emphasis mine) include turning the properties into competing school organizations."

The Dem Gaz ran an editorial yesterday stating that the Garland building's intended use is a charter school. Who's telling the truth here? Why is Poore lying to the staff of LRSD if KLS DOES have plans to turn Garland into a charter school to compete with the district?
