Re: “Democrats call for GOP Rep. Brandt Smith to apologize for racist remark

Personally, Id like to see all references to the Confederacy removed. Im a descendent of slaves and I find any Confederacy reference offending. Im sure the are others who want the references to remain because of their ancestors fought for states rights.

Im just going to call all of this a draw. But Id be glad to discuss it over a beer at any time. Dont expect me to go along with flawed logic.

Re: “Democrats call for GOP Rep. Brandt Smith to apologize for racist remark

Here is the section from the Arkansas Code Annotated 1-4-101, decide for yourself.

(b) The three (3) stars so placed are designed to represent the three (3) nations, France, Spain, and the United States, which have successively exercised dominion over Arkansas. These stars also indicate that Arkansas was the third state carved out of the Louisiana Purchase. Of these three (3) stars, the twin stars parallel with each other signify that Arkansas and Michigan are twin states, having been admitted to the Union together on June 15, 1836. The twenty-five (25) white stars on the band of blue show that Arkansas was the twenty-fifth state admitted to the Union. The blue star above the word "ARKANSAS" is to commemorate the Confederate States of America. The diamond signifies that this state is the only diamond-bearing state in the Union.

Re: “Blackface in Virginia, again. And again the question: Statute of limitations?

Blackface is not a joke. My ancestors are not laughing and neither am I.

Re: “Another attempt to nickel and dime the poor by the Arkansas GOP

Someone has to offset the tax cuts for the wealthy. Go after those who will probably not vote in the next election cycle. Nothing like GOP compassion.

Re: “Wealthy have millions of reasons to cheer Asa's new income tax cut plan

Attended a committee meeting on Wednesday and listened to an agency person speak of the limited resources available for a particular education program. Smart move to cut taxes so there will be even fewer dollars available. Those programs affected are probably not used by those who will benefit from the tax reduction. Yet I hear the governor say he wants to make the state competive with our neighbors. Guess we are all fighting to be last. JEEZE!
